I became interested in the life of Billy Sing after reading John Hamilton’s excellent biography Gallipoli sniper: the life of Billy Sing. I was particularly interested in his marriage to Elizabeth Stewart, and how she seems to have simply disappeared.
Several years of on-again/off-again digging around allowed me to work out what happened to the long-lost Mrs Sing. My research journey uncovered two children from two different fathers (neither being Billy), a trip to Australia with an Australian merchant seamen, and a good number of descendants.
I have now written and published a brief monograph on Where is Mrs Sing?
